greg g Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 It belongs/ed to a young fellow on the HAMB from Wahsington State. He built it for the reliability run they have out that way. It's been bloe'd up twice I believe. Last word was he had the car for sale, with a different (stock I think) engine. Quote
Cpt.Fred Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 he was on here for a short time, but disappeared quite quickly. he also owns a 41 nash coupe with a SBC in it. i think he blew two head gaskets and in the end the main bearings quit service due to the high compression ratio... that is if i remember correctly. great sound, though. it was one of my inspirations for changing the factory settings on my engine. BobT-47P15 Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 No mufflers or tailpipes on that engine there.......so you get all the sound. You can make your engine lope along while cruising slowly.....just pull out the choke to where it makes it run choppy. H K Estes has a good sound on his P15 coupe. Quote

Here it is in case anyone wants to listen. Not nearly as radical as the one above. I hope my new 230 sounds as good as my 218. Need to get off my rear and get it installed so that I can have some time with it before I head to Joplin for the HAMB Drags. Quote
Powerhouse Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 (edited) DANG...that drive shaft is so close to that spinning e brake drum...lucky it didn't roll froward while revving it so much... Edited May 16, 2011 by Powerhouse Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 (edited) The old brown coupe doesn't sound too bad. I think the engine is a 53 model with split manifold, but only one carb. It now has a pair of cherry bomb mufflers......also a set of cutouts and side pipes. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v96/BobT3/1949%20P15/cpe%20running/?action=view¤t=100_1400.mp4#!oZZ1QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2F%2Fsmg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv96%2FBobT3%2F1949%2520P15%2Fcpe%2520running%2F%3Faction%3Dview%26current%3D100_1771.mp4 Edited May 17, 2011 by BobT-47P15 Quote
