Dave72dt Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 For what he wanted the frame to do, (set on the ground) would have taken more work to do on an original frame than starting from scratch. There were some things I'd have done differently, some of which he corrected as he went along but a good solid build. Shame about the Chevy motor though. Maybe it's the GREEN thing, reusing what you already have. Quote

Dave72dt Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 I really don't mind what's in it as long as it's clean and well engineered, looks like it belonged in there. I don't pay a lot of attention to the engine compartment if it has a SBC in it. They all look pretty much the same after a while. I personally prefer to match engine to vehicle make but that also depends on the style of the build. A '41 Willys for example could find anything in as long as it had a bunch of cubic inches. A T roadster might end up with a 4 cyl or V6 and look right. Quote

He thought that it was funny recently rolling up to a Chev show in a Dodge and taking out the trophy for 'best Chev powered vehicle'. I don't think some of the Chev owners saw the funny side of it though! To each his own. The hotrod thing doesn't do much for me either, but I think this 29 is a really nice car. Change is the enemy!
