1949P17BC Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Am preparing to remove the front clip from my 47 P15 Sedan. On the wiring harness is there a place to disconnect or do you have to cut them. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 The wiring harness will tie in along the inner fender to your items like the starter solenoid, then branch over to the coil..generator and then to the front of the radiator shell..here you will unbolt where it ties into the distrubution block...the harness will be clipped into place with bend tabs along the way..even at this chances are your original harness is going to be very brittle and may crack the insulation real bad, may even to the point it will need replaced..be careful..just wanted to make you aware of the other effect handling might create. bob westphal Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 There were no quick disconnect plugs used on cars when P15s were built. You can disconnect the wiring and lay it over the firewall. You also can remove the firewall grommets and stuff the wire loom through the holes. Like Tims says be careful. These wires are OLD! Even though the wire may look good, they tend to be britle and the insulation will flake off. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 I took the front end off mine several years ago.....did what Tim said....did not have to disconnect anything. There is no plug-in on these cars. Quote
greg g Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 There is one quick disconnect under the hood. The wire that goes up the steering column for the horn button as a male female plug in about 3 or 4 inches down the wire from where it comes out of the steering box. Quote
