MacTexas Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 My power rolled out and I am ready for it to roll back on. Temp outside is 14 and inside is 49. Quote
rustyzman Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 22 inches in Elk Grove Village. 19+ at O'Hare airport. Lots of wind and drifts. Really not nearly as bad as '99 here with 21.6" living in a Chicago apartment with no where to put the snow. This time we are in a little house in the suburbs. This is much, much better. My Montgomery Wards Garden Mark snowblower (Gilson mfg.), vintage 1967 worked like a champ. That snowblower is an animal. All plate steel and castings, nothing light gauge anywhere. Only lost one flower pot and a bag of garbage I forgot about in the process. Be safe out there. Quote
Booker T Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 It was down to about 16 f last night here in the North Houston area. I swear it feels twice as cold as the -18 f in Quebec last week... ...then again, when I was in Quebec I was not out in the shop at midnight like a complete jack___ trying to spray paint fenders! The rattle can paint layed down suprisingly well considering... Quote

So -20f can feel not as bad as 15f with high humidity and wind. I expereince that here all the time.. Quote

BobT-47P15 Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 Well, the snow stopped yesterday afternoon, but with the cold temps, will be staying for a while. It's up to 10f at the present time (Wed) here in S W MO with the sun shining. Supposed to be -10 tonight. A friend came over while ago with his 4 wheel drive Jeep Grand Cherokee.....ran it up and down the driveway numerous times, then out into the street. So hopefully I can get out Friday morning to get to a doctor's appointment at 11. Still not much traffic on the street in front of the house. Lots of semi trucks parked in the south end of town near the interstate, which was totally closed in Oklahome (about 10 miles from here), and the westbound lane of I44 had been closed from Springfield to Joplin as well. Niel Hoback Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 It looks like I have some work to do. Its about 20 degrees and very windy. Reckon I'd better get busy. Quote

You better believe it can get unreal cold here, Winnipeg and Edmonton, are the 2 coldest populated cities in the world, well maybe including Moscow and St Petersburg Russia. New Flyer, I used to own a house, down the road from the Transcona Plant, on Pandora Avenue, seen a lot of buses coming out of that plant.... Quote

P-12 Tommy Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Well.... I guess I'll chime in. It was about 75 and cloudy here today. We have real estate classes all day Saturday and getting in the car right away that night and driving to Boone, N.C.. My girlfriend's got family there. She's gonna stay there for three weeks. Then Monday I'm driving myself up to Mentor, Ohio to see my kids. I'll pick her up on the way back. I've been watching the weather. Hopefully I can thread the needle. So far it doesn't look too good.
