Theyre not really a problem. They can come out or go in wirh rhe nose on, as Marvelous Merle has shown us in his video. Front bolts tothe radiator support and rears bolt to a bracket on the frame behind the front axle. Top bolts along the fender edge hold tfe rest.

Good Luck

I really need a photo of how/where they bolt on the radiator support. Both of the holes on mine have been torn out, I am going to weld a new piece in but where do they bolt on? My inner fenders won't pop out like Merle's because I have a V-8 in it and don't have the room I use to have.

thanks,

Here's a picture of the passenger side. You're looking at the lower corner from the engine side. Other than the bolts at the top, the only other bolt that's attached to the front sheet metal is at the lower front corner. As you can see, it doesn't mount to the radiator support...it mounts to the sheet metal that the support bolts to.

There are a couple bolts on the cab side...if I remember correctly, they bolt to some other sheet metal pieces that bolt to the cab.

I think I'm going to have the same problem you have. I'm going to have to slide mine in from the front of the truck (have to leave them attached to the dog house and slip them between the shock mounts and the moster valve covers.

I didn't want to start a whole new thread, but I figured I could find the answer here. Where do the headlight terminal blocks mount? I'm assuming its somewhere on the inner fenders, but I cannot find any mounting holes that match up.

hmmm, when I tore down my truck I had no bus bars...were they even on the '51's?

hmmm, my head lights were wired direct, with no bus left anywhere on the front clip...would the "D" be different?

Great, possibly MORE parts to replicate/try to find! Altho, with some dims and a pic or two, replicating is easy for me with a laser at work!

Mark I would say you are missing them. No reason a 1ton would have different headlight wiring. Good news for you the guys on the car side discovered that either rhode island or YnZ had repro ones.

Ed, thanks!

yah I figured they'd be the same and at some point someone wired them direct. But one never knows in these oldies! Questions are FREE! :)
