41/53dodges Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 all the windows (but the driver's side!) are shot out of my 41'. i would have to guess they have the same cabs as the smaller pickups and whatnot, but what other windshields would fit to replace them? and the other windows! i dont have the cash to have em' made, nor do i have patterns! Young Ed Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 All the trucks 39-47 use the same windows with the exception of some of the post war ones with optional vent windows. Quote

You might call a couple of the automotive glass shops in your area and ask them if they have the patterns . I once read that most of the shops have most patterns available . They probably wouldn't loan them out but you can inquire about prices for having the glass cut . Quote
41/53dodges Posted January 19, 2011 Author Report Posted January 19, 2011 seeing as this probably wont be a legal road truck for awhile, could i just use plexiglass for now? cheaper, easier to cut, easier to just glue in place till i fix the windshield frame... Quote
Young Ed Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Are you sure its cheaper? If you get it the same thickness as the windows a full sheet can be pretty expensive. You might be better off to chip in the extra $ and get the real thing. Other then that I'm sure plexi would keep most of the rain etc out of the inside.Keep in mind plexi scratches and gets cloudy easily so you probably wont be able to see through it well eventually. 41/53dodges Posted January 19, 2011 Author Report Posted January 19, 2011 true, what does plexi cost these days anyways? i havent bought any in awhile... to go with that, what should glass cost, i think its supposed to be laminated. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 I think I paid a little over $200 for all 7 pieces of flat glass for my truck. Merle Quote
41/53dodges Posted January 20, 2011 Author Report Posted January 20, 2011 so $30/window or $15/pane Quote
41/53dodges Posted February 5, 2011 Author Report Posted February 5, 2011 okay, will car windshields interchange? im kinda grabbing for straws here, the free mcdonalds ones at that! so far i have lost the better part of my already small income, so i gotta cut back. Quote
