Alshere59 Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 So looking at the car which is excellent by the way. Exactly what are you working on?? I wish mine was even close. Quote
1941Rick Posted January 17, 2011 Author Report Posted January 17, 2011 I am about to put into the shop and rewire the car...converted to 12 volt last winter but am not happy with the absense of fuses....so rewire, install electric wipers and modern radio.....the car will retain the stock look but be just a bit more drivable.....it's my black hole... cuddles1 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 WOW - - NICE---NICE---NICE !!!!! I have a 41; been working on, took a lot of time to get it running, stopping and all the rest.. Wish I knew how to put photos on, I show you guys. (** no where as nice as yours **) Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 car is very nice. Hope converting it helps. I have had 6volt pos all the time my car is very driveable. I have a 1940 and it's great to drive. looks like you have very little to do with it. Quote
47droptop Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 What a beautiful car Rick. Looks like that front B.C. plate's been around awhile . You should drive to Radium in September for the Columbia Valley car show...I'ld love to see you there. Quote
40plyrod Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 BEAUTIFUL CAR. Thanks for posting. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Thats so good looking you need a railing around it to keep people from drooling on it. HEY, picture number 3! There's that hat you've been looking for! Quote
1941Rick Posted February 5, 2011 Author Report Posted February 5, 2011 I had a hard starting engine after the rebuild. Put 12 volt to the starter and away it went...so changed the whole car over....now have bright headlights and a modern radio. Quote
1941Rick Posted February 5, 2011 Author Report Posted February 5, 2011 I will have to loook into Radium....want to take her on a good road trip.... Quote
40plyrod Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Just noticed where your from, we're practiclly nieghbours:D Have you ever brought that car down island to any show (I'm sure I would remember seeing that flathead) I'd love to see it in person. Ed Quote
1941Rick Posted February 6, 2011 Author Report Posted February 6, 2011 I just got the car back on the road and took a 2 month holiday last summer...have only been to our club show here in Campbell River....Was in Courtenay for their cruise at last years show and shine....I would like to go to some long distance shows, not the local ones. Getting the car to the point of long distance comfort without ruining the classic look. Sorta Resto-mod....well sorta Quote
thrashingcows Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 And from another BC boy....Beauty of a car you have there!! Thank you for sharing the pics...and info. Quote

1941Rick Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 Cpt Fred.....it is a stock cast iron head with a dressup set of fins. Under each head bolt is a flat washer with 3/4" flat bar welded to the washers. It is then chrome plated... Quote
