Plymouthy Adams Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 In all my years dealing with all the old Mopar cars, and the ones I have owned over the years I do not recall ever having seen one of these..probably the first item lost.. Quote
Tom Skinner Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 That looks like the Hub Cap Remover that slid across the Tire Iron in Days gone by. I had one on my first 1948 Chrysler Royal from 1973-1984. The 1948 Chrysler Royal with a Tire Iron I have now - it is misssing. They could be as rare as Hen's Teeth by now. Tom Huntersville NC Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 I wonder if the rounded end of a church-key would work ? Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 I have that tire iron with that remover on the iron for my T&C. It is kept on the iron with a raised nib. All the 1946-8 chryslers came with them. Bob Quote

norrism1 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Looks like the removal tool for the rear tire skirts. Chrysler or Imperial. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Here is one of those factory tire irons and swaged on hub cap removal tools from one of my Chryslers. Bob Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 How about that.....it even is stamped on the item what it does. Have never seen that item before, but it's rather cool. Looks as if it could be fabricated if desired. I usually use the tapered end of the tire tool for cap removal. Quote
thrashingcows Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 I found a couple of openers like this one in my glove box...guess I know what they were used for now. Quote
