Reg Evans Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Im thinking of getting some fender skirts for my 38 Dodge Coupe and wondered what you guys have found to be the best fit and best deal. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140096462476&fromMakeTrack=true Here's the car. bob westphal Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 I think its pretty high unless you want the original. Check out JC Whitney theyhave some skirts in their latest catalog Quote
grey beard Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Hey Reg, That car doesn't need skirts - it just needs trim rings, IMHO:) Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Reg, If anything, I'd go with bubble skirts for that body style. However, I think that body style looks better without skirts. Just paint the wheels and put some trim rings on there. That would probably dress it up more than skirts. My rule of thumb for skirts is. If has a runningboard, no skirts. No running board, get skirts. I would use a different color on the wheels though to make them stand out. Quote
Normspeed Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Beautiful coupe Reg. And I see your shop helper is taking a keen interest in the project. Perhaps just sizing up the tires? Looks like one of my helpers. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 that little shop helper is looking for his original water mark on the tires... Quote
Reg Evans Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 Actually he has a couple of jobs when a new car arrives. 1st he handles all rodent evictions and then he signals me that the eviction has been completed by hosing down the tires. For some reason he thinks he needs to signal me every day though. Quote
Reg Evans Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 Hey Reg,That car doesn't need skirts - it just needs trim rings, IMHO:) OK Grey Beard and Norm's Coupe. It's done. Fast aren't I Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Or Agape Auto in Indiana. Link http://www.skirtsandvisors.com/generic3.html Or Fenderskirt King of Canada http://www.fenderskirtking.com/Chrysler.htm Quote
Brad Lustig Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 (trailer queen) I like it with or without the skirts. Probably prefer without, though. I'd keep looking for a better price if it were me Quote
Reg Evans Posted March 15, 2007 Author Report Posted March 15, 2007 Yeah Brad, you are right....she's been on a trailer for years out of doors. I've never been a fan of fender skirts but they are starting to grow on me a little. I'd hate to buy some and then not like um though. Quote
1just4don Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 I love that style, Fender headlights, piano hinge hood, cool small window on the side. I would LOVE to own one 'someday'. I will take 1 lottery ticket,,,please???-don- Quote
Furylee2 Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 I say go for it. Here is a picture of one of the skirts I got from Agape Auto on my 41 coupe. They make their skirts out of metal and patterned after the original type. And they’re only $225. I don’t have them painted yet, but I’m really happy with their product. Lee Quote
Reg Evans Posted March 15, 2007 Author Report Posted March 15, 2007 Hey...those are cool. I like the way they swoop up and then end in a point. Moving fast just standin still. Quote
Furylee2 Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 I think when I talked to the guy on the phone, he told me they just designed that particular skirt so's not to cover the ribs on the fender. They really fit nice. I hope it won't be too hard to match that old paint job; I really don't want to paint the whole car. Quote
Normspeed Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 I like the contrasting color myself. Great looking skirts. Quote
