hudson joe Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 I'm trying to find out what make and year Mopar used this fuel gauge. I saw a 46 Plymouth at a car show. The gauge was similar both the word fuel was at the top not the bottom. Quote
hudson joe Posted September 21, 2010 Author Report Posted September 21, 2010 There are no numbers on the back. Hoping some one will have the same guage in their car. It is NOS 6 volt and and works. also have the bottom half of the box it came in, numbers may have been on the top half. Quote
desoto1939 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 This is a for a 39 Desoto. Rich HArtung desoto1939@aol.com Quote
hudson joe Posted September 21, 2010 Author Report Posted September 21, 2010 All the 39 Desoto photos of the dash guages I could find show smaller guages with a white back ground. The fellow I talked to at the car show, who had a 46 Plymouth said it might be for a 47 Plymouth as the back ground was the same color as his guages and had the same concave shape. The lettering is engraved into the plastic piece from the rear. If you would bend the two small tabs at the top of the guage holding the plastic peice in place and replace it with the 46 plastic it would match his 46 Plymouth gauge. Quote
hudson joe Posted September 21, 2010 Author Report Posted September 21, 2010 Here is the 47 Plymouth dash Quote
desoto1939 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 I am sorry but I forgot the word Not for a 39 desoto. My big boo boo. Rich Hartung Quote
RobertKB Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Here is the one in my '48 Canadian Dodge D25 which is the same as a Plymouth but with Dodge trim. The word "FUEL" is at the bottom of the gauge so I would say your gauge is for a '47 or '48 Plymouth P15 or Dodge D25. Quote
hudson joe Posted September 21, 2010 Author Report Posted September 21, 2010 I guess the quest continues. I noticed on the 47 Plymouth and Dodge the word fuel is on the bottom, But 1/2 is on the bottom also. My guage has 1/2 on top and Fuel on the bottom!!!!!! The search continues. Quote
Young Ed Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 The 46-48 chysler uses gauges very similar to the plymouth. Check out one of those. Quote
