Can you fit a 2X1 with this heater on a 50 Plymouth

I have a 50 Plymouth and am using 2 BB carbs with a 4 inch diameter air cleaner. Looking at it after I rebuilt the spare carb the heater may be in the way. Anyone have this running?

The Fenton is 7 1/2 inches center to center. Not sure what the Offies etc are? Anyway thoughts? I think I will have 1/8th inch clearance using the air cleaner shown after the install. Its the smallest I found that fit the carb.

Not sure about the heater clearance issue. However I found that using the small air cleaner that you are using restricted the air flow on my dual carburetor setup causing the engine to run way too rich fouling the plugs. So I doubled up on the air cleaners.

I have the same on my 50 and the heater fits, it's tight but it fits!

Look at Pete's site (blueskies) he modified his plenum for carb clearence.

Is that a correct original heater box on that model Plymouth?

This pic is from a 50 Plymouth two door fastback currently listed on ebay.

Also seems like how blueskies' system looked.

I wonder if that firewall box could be modified, turned another way, or re-made smaller.....

My bad, i did not look at the heater box on the firewall. mine is on the fenderwell from the core support back. same as the pic above.

I am not sure if it is a stock item. I am beginning to think it is not. Turning it won't get me there I don't think. Maybe a box running to a freh air intake kit.

The blue car stuff looks to be non mopar, the black car seems to be 49-52 correct.
