Tailgate handle needed. Have money...Will send

This handle actually came off of my Sweptside tailgate but it looks like a trunk handle to me. Any similar handle would work as long as the square shank is at least 2" long and 5/16" square.

Reg , Can you use this one or parts from it ? The shaft is only 1 5/8 long and looks to be crimped in place . The mounting holes are 1 3/4 center to center . The handle takes a key and no keys . The colar on the shaft is 3/4 diameter and extends from the base by 1/2 inch .

Perhaps you could weld a chunk of your old shaft onto the new shaft .

Great. That looks like it might be workable Jerry. Lets see if anything else comes up first though.

look to the Suburban part car if you stillhave it..they use the same setup...but I still think the truck topper/hardwares store model will suit your purpose..as for Don...don't fall into that trap..man is fixing to retire..its a scam I'm sure...

looks like the same style of handle you would find on many truck caps...I bet you could find one of those easily enough and then just cut to size and most have a fairly long shaft.

That was easy...it sure looks close to the images attached here. If it works (and it looks like it will) it should buy you some serious time in findind the real-deal. Shipping is not a rip either.

It sure was easy Hank. Now the harder part begins. I have to drill 17 holes in the replacement gate to accept the latching mechanisms.

Once I get that done I'll take it back off and all apart so Lisa can sandblast it for me while I'm inside wearing her apron doing women's work.
