As much as I enjoy the high. Its time to fix my exhaust problem. I believe I have a hole in my manifold. Is this one of these parts that is hard to find or can I get something like this at Napa or somewhere else?

What's the deal?

Thanks

If you had a hole in the manifold I am sure you would hear it and know where it is..these are subject to cracking however..finding a manifold at Napa is hardly likely..place a WANTED ad in the truck parts needed section of this forum..odds are someone here may have one to spare..but do inspect first and see if there is a true need for a manifold as these are getting a bit more scare..

A hole or crack can be repaired by a qualified welder but do ask his method as stop drilling, preheating and proper cool down methods are critcal to a lasting fix..

Check the gaskets between the intake and exhaust manifolds, and the exhaust ports and the block. If the gasket where the two manifolds join turns out to be the cluprit you should be able to heat the area around the base of the intake where the bolts go that hold the 2 manifolds together to a red glow (one at a time) to get them to loosen. If not, or if the manifold can't be repaired by welding-the hunt is on. Mike

I'm going to take it down to Santa Cruz to the local muffler shop that does the old school cars and hippie-wagons and get some advice. I will get back to you pflaming. Thanks for your help everyone.

I'm going down to woodies on the warf this weekend. I'm hoping to see Charles Furman, don't know if he is making the drive up or not.
