dontknowitall
Please look at the pics, my amp gauge is different then other B2B .. mine is the light green older one, it says 50 - 0 + 50 is mine correct? I have a Dodge Fargo 1950 1/2 ton 108 (the same as B2B)
Merle Coggins
That would be correct. The B2 models got a higher output generator than what was used on the B1's. My B-2-C also has a 50-0-50 ammeter. Merle
dontknowitall
so, the other one that says 35 + etc is incorrect? That would be correct. Merle Coggins
so, the other one that says 35 + etc is incorrect? For a B-2, yes. For a B-1, it is correct.

DollyDodge
Merle: Your gauges look great. I was looking at the old string of yours when you were redoing your gauges. did you end up using the vinyl replacements for the lettering or what did you do? Our old 49 has the 50-0-50 gauge too. Merle Coggins
My friend made up full decals to match the original gauge faces and applied them onto the gauge face plates. They look perfect and it was cheap. She wasn't interested in doing more, but I do have a spare set of gauge face plates that she also did. I was thinking about seeing if she would make up a clock face decal to cover a spare speedo face. I want to mount a small battery operated clock into a spare bad speedo that I have and install it into the speaker grill spot. However, she is now out of business and they have moved to Alabama. If you know someone in the vinyl graphics business it's something to think about. Merle
1949dakota
are there any other options for gauges? mine look "tired" to say the least.
Reg Evans
eBay will turn up some now and then. Here are some I have available. Not really great but better than some. Lowers 48-50.....uppers 51-
HanksB3B
"Hey Hank that's not for your 51 B3B" Duh "Oh No it's the wrong one. Darn this was really hard to find now I'll have to spend hours looking for the correct one." This (especially NOS) is one of the most difficult parts to find on our trucks (even Reg doesn't have one so you know it's rare). This would fit the guage cluster that is posted by Merle in post #2. Reg Evans
That is a nice one Hank! Have you tested it in a cup of hot water ? The reason I ask is that I bought a NOS one from Collectors Auto Supply once and even though it was very nice looking it didn't work. They did have another one so I did get a good one. What are you asking for it ?
Merle Coggins
Must be pretty warm at your house. That gauge is reading around 140 degrees just sitting there. Merle
HanksB3B
and before I put the tea bag in made sure to drop a slice of bologna on the floor, () applied the three second rule and ate it, so my wife wouldn't freak out when I actually drank the tea. The guage is a working guage, just he wrong one for my 51. Hank

HanksB3B
Reg I'm asking $125 (with a little wiggle room) for it if that's o.k. It's brand new and in perfect working order. Hank
Reg Evans
That's a great price Hank. I've seen them go for $150 and more. Mine is working fine for now.

DollyDodge
Thanks Merle: I will need some gauge faces someday, but for now I guess I need to work on some other stuff. I like the vinyl idea though.

Merle Merle, Would you want to sell the spare set of gauge stickers? My bro.who lives way over in Florida is in that business and I could have him make some more if he had a pattern. We were toying with the idea a few years ago but I dropped the ball. He could make a clock face too with the proper font. Reg
HanksB3B
Reg but if I give them up you are not allowed to call me an AutoCad geek, nerd, dork or any other derragatory names anymore. Promise ? Hank

Merle The photo must have been taken just after it was tested and on it's way down. This is how I found it this morning in storage. No it's wasn't 100 deg. here today. If I gave it a shot of WD40 you'd think it was manufactured yesterday. It was, only yesterday was 62 years ago even I don't look that good. Yep it's bound for Oklahoma. JoelOkie
That 100 was about right for here yesterday. Still 95 at 8 pm last evening. Looks like we better get used to it, at least for a while. Joel
