Fernando Mendes Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 :confused:Is this RAM 1952 type?It costs $115 here in Brazil.I am doubt about paint it with chrome spray or leave it unrestorable(original). Quote
NiftyFifty Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 Looks not too bad, fairly pitted, but I'm not sure I would touch it....if you do it's pretty hard to go back to original if you don't like. As for the style try this.. http://www.taillightking.com/Hood_Ornaments.htm Quote
Reg Evans Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 Fernando, I've seen a lot of Dodge ram hood ornaments but I've never seen that one. I don't think it's for a truck unless maybe it's for a COE truck. Anybody recognize this one? Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted June 8, 2010 Author Report Posted June 8, 2010 I have a COE pic.I don't think. Quote
Reg Evans Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 Well....that's a 41-47 COE so I wouldn't expect that to match the one you have. I was thinking maybe a 53,54 or 55 maybe. Quote
HanksB3B Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 I think your COE will fit on my plane. Will you trade your COE for a 1948-50 Ram which is the same as the optional 51-53 Ram ? (see attached image) Let me know, Hank Tim or Reg: Would it be o.k. to ship this to one of you. I'm fresh out of room in my apartment complex. Quote
HanksB3B Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 (edited) Maybe your 52 is supposed to have bigger horns than my made in America 51, but I've heard that said about Latin Mopars. (my wife told me). Good luck but keep looking (the goat doesn't look quite right, and is in poor condition we have organizations here in the US to prevent animal neglect/abuse. How about in Brazil? Also, $115 seems high unless they add a little something from Columbia along with it. Will Ebay ship to Brazil ? Let me know if I can be of help, Hank Edited June 9, 2010 by HanksB3B Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted June 9, 2010 Author Report Posted June 9, 2010 Hank,I noticed that under this RAM has a Dodge Symbol(DPCD) like shown in this radiator pic.I bought it for $115.Regards. Quote
Reg Evans Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Fernando, There should also be a part number too. We might be able to identify it with that number. Does it have one ? Quote
HanksB3B Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 I'll be happy. I never looked to see if mine has any production markings. Hank Quote

Fernando Mendes Posted June 9, 2010 Author Report Posted June 9, 2010 OK Reg.I noticed two differences on e-bay ornament, mine don't have ear nor eyes.I am sure that mine don't have the body, has only head.I asked to you which material exist between the RAM and the hood(rubber or wood?). Quote
Reg Evans Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 You are correct Fernando. There are slight differences but the overall shape looks the same to me. I have never seen any type of gasket between a hood ornament and the hood on any old truck or car. Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted June 9, 2010 Author Report Posted June 9, 2010 Reg,I found now a Dodge Coronet 1953 car with RAM hood ornament. They are the same because have only head. Quote

Fernando Mendes Posted June 9, 2010 Author Report Posted June 9, 2010 Young Ed,do you want I delete your pics???? Quote
Young Ed Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 No I was just surprised someone saved the picture of that poor car! What sad shape that thing was in. Last I heard from the new owner he had most of the floors and rockers from his 4dr parts car pieced into the 2dr. Sadly his email doesn't work now so I haven't gotten an update in a while. Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted June 9, 2010 Author Report Posted June 9, 2010 Ok,then look this beautifuls Dodge 6 cylinders 1955 orange and De Soto 1955 blue.Regards. Quote

Reg Evans Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) Reg,Dodges 1955-56 & 57 cars;) Yes, I didn't say yours was for a 55,56,or 57 car. They are much larger and very different than yours. In all my looking around at hood ornaments I still haven't seen one just like yours but the one Townwagon is selling on eBay is the closest so far. Edited June 9, 2010 by Reg Evans Quote
