RobertKB Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 anybody interested in a dinner night in nyc? we could make it a p15-d24 meet. I'm interested but as I live about 2500 miles away, I won't be able to make it. I do hope, however, to be in NYC in the fall as I have a niece with dual citizenship who is working and living there. michael.warshaw Posted May 22, 2010 Author Report Posted May 22, 2010 hey robert didnt i promise you a dinner? Quote
RobertKB Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Yes, you did at Peter Luger's. You have a good memory! Quote
1940plymouth Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Bob, When you are NYC visiting your niece, if you have time, I am approx 125 miles northwest of the city, You are more than welcomed to stop in for a visit Quote
RobertKB Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Bob' date='When you are NYC visiting your niece, if you have time, I am approx 125 miles northwest of the city, You are more than welcomed to stop in for a visit[/quote'] Bob, Thanks for the invite. I am not positive at this time if I will be going in the fall due to my wife's health, but will see a bit later on. We hope to travel by Amtrack from Shelby, Montana. I have a friend in Ottawa, Ontario, who said he would drive down and get us and then I would fly back from there. Never been to NYC or our capital, Ottawa. It would be a great trip. I will certainly keep your offer in mind and do appreciate it. Robert Quote
Charlie Olson Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Robert, no matter what else you do in NYC, please ride on the Staten Island Ferry and go right by the Statue of Liberty. It is as thrilling as anything else patriotic to see, in our great country. Charlie, hot footing it in Hellazona Quote
michael.warshaw Posted May 23, 2010 Author Report Posted May 23, 2010 lived in ny for all my life, never been to a braodway show, or to statue of liberty, and my office is 2 miles from statue of liberty. but i frequent the chrysler building daily. Quote
RobertKB Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 I think the Chrysler Building is the best looking building in NYC from any pictures I have seen. Hope to see it up close this fall. Quote
Frank Elder Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 I gotcha Mike, I live in omaha and don't go to the college world series or the henry doorly zoo. You get used to local atractions. I would love to go to ther Chrysler building! Quote
Captain Neon Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Despite it being a weekend, the Chrysler Building was my highlight of our day-trip to NYC last summer. Quote
RobertKB Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Robert, no matter what else you do in NYC, please ride on the Staten Island Ferry and go right by the Statue of Liberty. Thanks, Charlie. I put it on my list. Not sure I want to face the crowds at the actual site but seeing it up close from a ferry would be great and probably better for taking photographs as well. Quote
Charlie Olson Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Yes, pictures from the SIF are better than being on the grounds of the SOL; plus you get to meet some great people, if you present a friendly, warm attitude first, guaranteed!!! Quote
55 Fargo Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Where abouts is your Office located in Manhattan, are you commuting from Long Island? I hear space is about 2 to 3 k per square foot in Manhattan these days. Quote
michael.warshaw Posted May 24, 2010 Author Report Posted May 24, 2010 i have one downtown on braodway, and another office uptown. Quote
mfccwhite Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 That sounds like a great idea, Mike, but I will have to sit this one out. Was just in NYC last weekend to pick up my parts car (47 Plymouth). Found it on the internet in Shirley, N.Y. (Long Island way). Always an amazing sight going over the Geo. Washington Bridge. Trailered her back to Buffalo, N.Y. The Big Apple is one less p-15. : ( Quote

Arrive an hour or two before LSU plays and strike up a conversation with the LSU fans that are tailgating. They're the friendliest people you'll ever meet and they'll feed you Cajun food that will knock your socks off. Quote
