Don, to make the woody more beautiful I would like to suggest to use wood from a pear tree, the color will give a better match........LOL.

Nice video, nice looking engine. First time I heard a 6 run.

pics are always nice:)

i'm running a single 2" pipe on a factory manifold and a single "bullet" muffler,

but since i am going to lower the car 3" in the back i don't want to lay the exaust across the rear axle anymore.

the plan would be to to buy the fenton style headers (since i like the sound so much) and let the pipes exit in front of the rear wheels under the running boards on both sides.

keep us updated on your assembly progress, this will be a great car!

Question: Do you have CAD drawings for that radiator mount. Looks like a good way to check things out before putting the 'dog house' back on. Good work, enjoyed the video?

  • 4 weeks later...

The off idle stumble was caused by my attempt to create stock looking linkage

for the 2-barrel carburetor. All the pivot points created too much play, ended up going with a 48" Lokar throttle cable.

Spent too much time on design and fabbing parts. First pivot arm is a stock peice cut and flipped. Second pivot arm was my rough attempt and recreating

the stock piece (flipped) out of flat steel:

Lokar fits stock pedal nicely, only had to do a little bit of filing.

I knew there was a reason I hung on to that short piece of left over hanger:

Much cleaner and a lot better throttle control:

good job on that front clip!

i still live in faer of the day i have to take mine off...

what model carb are you using there, does it run better and more economically

than the carter 1bbl or why did you change it?

a linkage would have been nice for sure, but this way it's clean, too!
