Brad Lustig Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 Yes, there are trainers and owners that do disgusting things with their dogs while training or when they're done racing them. But most of those guys are no longer around. The trainer that raised my pup was really good to his dogs. The lady I adopted Max from had a good relationship with him. My dog LOVED not only to run but to race. I have absolutely nothing against the races. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 My friends, that I bought my house from, had 3 different retired greyhounds over the years. They were awesome dogs. In fact it took quite some time after I moved into my home before I noticed much squirel traffic in my back yard. I guess it took them a while to realize that those "speedy dogs" weren't there anymore and it was safe to roam around. Merle Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 if they chase squirrels..send me a dozen of them...I did not get one pear, plumb or apple and very few pecans because of them destructive varmints..maybe it would be different if I could stay home and ping a few of them...tree rats and rice...little high in cholestrol but sweet sweet revenge.. Niel Hoback Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 Don, it is my understanding that now the dogs are actually owned by the track and trained by employees. It's big business gone to the dogs. Quote
