Plymouthy Adams Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 I have been in short dicussion through PM with Young Ed on the application of the Special Deluxe dash center ribbed center bar...was wondering who had the ribbed bar and who does not, year of their car and possibily the plant of orgin..my one car is supposed to be late 48 possibily early 1st series 49 Bz Cp and has the ribbed bar, Eds late 48 does not..mine is an Evansville car....not sure of Eds...I do not recall it on my 47 Detroit assembled sedan....trivial for sure..but an interesting note just the same...kinda wondering if thee was a production cut off for this part and which is more prevalent, with or without the ribbed bar.. 1947PLEVY Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Tim: I've had 3 plymouths. All were 47's. One has the bar and 2 do not. John Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) I see Don has the smooth bar. The ribbed one matches the one on the glove box door and also below the speedo. Here is a ribbed bar......they will come off the radio grill to which they are attached. The smooth one is made all in one piece......not removable. As best I can recall, my 47 from Dee-troit City, had a ribbed bar when I got it. My current grille is smooth but don't know what year car it came from. 1st small pic. The early 49 coupe has a smooth one. 2nd small pic. Edited April 13, 2010 by BobT-47P15 Quote
RobertKB Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 My '48 Dodge D25 has the smooth one. Quote
