PatS.... Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Does anyone have pictures of their SBC swap into these Mopars??? Just kinda curious about mounts and such. I know many think it's just plain wrong, and that's OK. I don't and that's OK too. No decision, just curious. Quote

Pat, are you pondering this transplant, not sure it would be so bad. I at first was going to do the same to my 47 Chrysler, but have since fell in love with flathead 6s......... Quote
PatS.... Posted April 7, 2010 Author Report Posted April 7, 2010 I'm just checking out what would be involved. I ended up with a real good 72 350/350 combo cheap from a rollover. Could be a neat way to get the parts car going...I won't need ALL the parts from it and I hate the thought of scrapping it. Just checking the water right now, Fred. Quote
55 Fargo Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 (edited) what is sbc? Your kiddin right? Okay, it is a an acronym, for Small Block Chevy, Edited April 7, 2010 by Rockwood Quote
dezeldoc Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Pat, you know my stance on this but check out this. all the mounts your mind can imagine! http://www.speedwaymotors.com/ProductSummary.aspx?free_text|4/6/2010%2011:27:07%20PM=motor+mounts&deptId=0 Quote

homebrewer Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 Ply-do should have everything you need. That is where I got most of my stuff. George Quote
michael.warshaw Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 why not a big block chevy ? we got the room? Quote
fstfish66 Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 sbc = small block chrysler, in my book:cool: Quote
dezeldoc Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 Ply-do should have everything you need. That is where I got most of my stuff.George Through speedway you can build the mounts for about a third of the cost of the ply-do kits. nothing hard about it. Quote
1947PLEVY Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Here are a few pics of the 327 down in mine. I had to get conversion mounts to set the motor back. It was sitting to far forward.. Quote
PatS.... Posted April 14, 2010 Author Report Posted April 14, 2010 why not a big block chevy ? we got the room? I don't have one in my garage. I do, however, have a real good sbc and no extra $ for a Mopar purchase or I would do that. Because of over-zealous scrapping around here to keep 2 Pick N Pulls going for the last 20 yrs, there are virtually zero older Mopars around. Hardly any Fords and few GM's with V8's in 'em. The Dodge trucks I've found have been trashed or have a computer. I would put in an AMC engine before a computer engine. As far as FIT goes, it seems a sbF would FIT the best, but I don't have one of those either. Hopefully I can get the old girl on the road this year. I'll sell it before it spends another year on jack stands. Quote

If that is a clip on there you might want to think about fish plating it! the sides of the clip should have been narrowed down to match the old frame, that thing is not on there to good and the welds look kinda bad also. just sayin!
