but man it was stressful the first time closing that hood while watching everywhere it could rub or scratch on the way down!

The body work was done with the hood on to maintain all the gaps but unfortunately without the hinges bolted in. Now that they are on, I have it set on the driver side to a good gap, but on the other with it adjusted up and forward as far as it will go, it just barely clears without rubbing,

So looks like the hood will have to come back off so I can drill myself a little more mounting space to get the gap right

Nice, Patrick.

Yes, it's rather nerve-wracking with new paint.

I have some chips where my hood doesn't do just right. So, your

plan should probably solve such things.

Looks GREAT!! Too bad you cant see the art work on the firewall with the hood on and closed. Maybe you should think about molding a clear lexan hood :D

Haha yeah you gunna show up to help me out with that one? :D

That really looks good!! Maybe you better lay in a good supply of Rolaids before you adjust that hood. I shudder thinking about it!

Really well done! I have always loved the lines on these cars

and the work you've done on yours sets them off nicely. It gives

me hope for my 50 Suburban. It's finally in paint after three

years.

Sweet I've always liked the Plymouth suburbans. and its a good feeling to have a car going to paint, that means all the taking apart is done and behind you, and you can look forward to putting all the pieces back together

Looks great...

I had a hellava time getting my hood to fit right, and it still is off some. At some point I called it good enough. I added a bunch more rubber bumpers too, to keep it from rubbing.

and Pete, mine will likely end up the same as yours, just as close as is worth it for how much effort it takes.

I'm sure they never fit perfectly even from the factory, couple that with the fact that these Plymouth hoods are the flimsiest pieces of c*** with out any bracing, ect.

similar to the night prowlers one, maybe even exactly the same...

although I think back when I bought the kit they were the same price.

They came out pretty nice, but not perfect, just little things, like the mounting holes for the stainless drilled just off enough to be an annoyance.

and the tri-bar headlights didn't quite fit at first, I had to cut a wider hole in the bucket so they would sit deep enough. **i just noticed they do mention that in the product description though
