1940plymouth Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 Being that we had a decent day yesterday, and that the Plymouth hadn't been driven yet this month, plus the roads were dry, Cooper and I put some miles on the old Plymouth. According to the weather report, we are suppose to get freezing rain and snow on and off the rest of the week starting tomorrow afternoon, so I figured it was a good day to drive the Plymouth, today is suppose to be sunny and in the upper 30's, so maybe Cooper and I will add some miles again today. Just wanted to share, Bob Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 Glad to see Cooper again. He's a good lookin little guy. Knows where the fun is. Quote
1940plymouth Posted February 21, 2010 Author Report Posted February 21, 2010 Thanks Niel, he never hesitated a bit when we walked to the Plymouth. He is a great co-pilot:D Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 Co-pilot:confused: I was gonna ask if he had his "junior operator's" license, or just a "learner's permit":D Good to see someone in NY can get on the roads. Enjoy. With the "green goo" on the roads up here I don't even want to drive my newer vehicles. J will stay tucked away till at least April unless strange things happen. That's one thing nice about living down here. I don't have to "put mine to bed" for the winter.:rolleyes:BTW....Cute little dog BobTom Quote
bobjob55 Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 how can you guys stand that weather ?? snow is nice ,, but i tried living in it ... way too cold and slippery ..guess that's why i'm in a warmer climate ... of course i can't stand 110-120 summers ether.. guess i'm getting spoiled .. LuckyDevil Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I know how you feel. The snow finally melted away and the temp actually got up to fifty the other day, so I had to take the old coupe for a drive. Had a nice little drive around the lake on the way to work. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Our temps here in southwest MO were in the 30s Monday - snow is gone except for big piles made when parking lots were cleaned off. That's the first time I had gotten the Plym out since fall. Just don't like to drive it if the roads are too messy. Then it requires cleanup. Quote
Captain Neon Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Bob, we got about 9 inches dumped on us here in scalawag country on Sunday. I am looking forward to seeing above freezing highs next week. The walk to work was a bit brisk this morning, 0*F. Earlier the weather experts were predicting more snow and cold this coming weekend, but I am pleased with new predictions of 30s by Friday. I hope to have my 4 door out around St. Patrick's Day. 1940plymouth Posted February 24, 2010 Author Report Posted February 24, 2010 I am glad that I had the Plymouth out the other day, good thing I did, we got roughly 18 inches of snow yesteday and thru early this morning, now according to the weather report, we could get up to and over two feet by sometime Friday, not to mention Hurricane force winds supposedly. On the bright side, I have 25 hours as a wingman on one of the town snow plows the past two days, most likely more tomorrow and Friday. Bob Quote

Bob[/quote'] Not good news for me. My wife is in Buffalo visiting the grandkids and is due to return next Monday. I look out my front window today as I write this and see almost a whiteout with the snow in central Tennessee. Quote
pflaming Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 One son moved to Maine from Central Calif. Wouldn't move back for anything. His wife was from Burbank and she agrees. Her parents moved to Maine when the first grandchild was due, they wouldn't move back either. Point is, all places have their interests, I think it finally boils down to the people. Orchards are really starting to bloom now, getting real purty. Quote
maine48ply Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I've been in Maine for about 30 years, raised a family here, good place. Where is your son? Quote

Cheer up Don, look at it this way, 304 shopping days till Chritmas, get over to Wallyworld, and take advantage of the time, the snow should put you in the Chritmas mood. Here is a pic of my front door Santa, I jus took a few minutes ago, plus one of the kids, they still like winter at this age. What you need to do is ttake a pic of yourslef having a coffee, on the deck. Hey you Guys will be in spring weather in about 2 to 3 weeks, we will be cold till mid April....... Quote
james49ply Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 And I sit here complaining that it has been horribly cold here, been averaging 10 to 20 degrees below normal. tomorrow the temps drop again and I will be freezing again. High tomorrow 61, and colder Saturday at 59. Quote
