austinsailor Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) Some challenges are mechanical, some are in other areas. I had a big success today. After 4+ months, I've got a title and tags. Took trailering it 2000+ miles, inspections in 2 states and a bond, but my 48 half ton B1B is now legal to drive! And the license reads "BRN FND". JBNeal Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Congratulations! I didn't have to trailer the '49 that much, but I understand the aggravation you've gone through. With title in hand, the world seems like a nicer place, don't it? Quote
buds truck Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 way too cool. Your persistance is amazing. 2k miles and 2 states??? You're a stud!!! Quote

grey beard Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Austin, Congratulations. Now move that truck back about two feet on the trailer - too much tongue weight - hitch almost drags. JMHO:D Good Luck Quote
Reg Evans Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Good job ! I like the even patina on your BRN FND. Are you going to keep it that way or do a repaint? Quote
austinsailor Posted February 5, 2010 Author Report Posted February 5, 2010 I'll replace the broken glass, but plan to keep it looking like it came out of the barn this morning. I still have to do a little wiring work, and put in the electric wiper motor I pulled from my old panel truck to replace the non-working vacuum motor. Replace the rusted holes in the floor and put in mats, but it'll stay about as is. At least that is my plan today. Gene Quote
Reg Evans Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I like your plan Gene. I would do the same. I've never seen one with such an even coat of history. Quote
48Dodger Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 ...... I've never seen one with such an even coat of history...... "A coat of History" You just made every "rust bucket" stuck in the barn, lost in the woods, waiting in a pile, sitting as a parts bin, and providing shelter for God's little creatures....smile. 48D Quote
