John Reddie Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 I'd say 1939 Plymouths. First year for the headlights recessed into the fenders. Nice photo. John R Quote

Young Ed Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Yup 39s. Only year with square headlights. My Grandpa bought a coupe like the one on the left new or nearly new. He had an annoying neighbor or in law that was always bumming rides. So he picked up a 39 business coupe with no back seat. No more rides for that lady! That 39 lasted him through the war until he got his brand new d24. Quote
1940plymouth Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 My Father-in-law's first new car was a 1939 Plymouth. I'll have to ask him how long he had his. Quote

Roadkingcoupe Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Girls love Plymouths "Bring on the dancing girls! These chorus girls pose with a 1939 Plymouth. The 1939 model featured a new safety-signal speedometer that would flash a green light for speeds of up to 30 mph, an amber light for the 30 to 50 mph range, and red beyond the 50 mph speed. In both 1939, Plymouth received awards for safety-minded automotive design." Photo # WP-3259 Chrysler Historical Collection Quote
