PatS.... Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Shel, is the Caddy destined for Barrett Jackson? (It'll buff right up) Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 That first one is an Amphicar, amphibious vehicle. Has two propellers on the rear for being on the water. OOOhhhh......surely someone is not going to try and restore that Caddy convertible. That would be a monumental chore. However, it looks like the Cad has complete top bows and side windows with frames. That right there is worth a bunch if needed. Quote
RobertKB Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 I like the gas pump in the background of the Caddy picture. Hard to believe that poor old girl was once someone's pride and joy. Sure has seen better days. The amphicar should be worth a few bucks as they are very collectable right now. Thanks for posting. Interesting pics. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 That Amphicar is the first I have seen with a boat registration number on the fender..that would mean a dual registration???...there were quite a number of these on the roads in Charleston SC when I first moved there in mid 60's. And yes there are highly sought after today. Quote
Reg Evans Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 They sure are highly sought after. Here's one on the bay now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Other-Makes-Amphicar-Amphibious-1963-RARE-Amphicar-RESTORED-Only-878-original-km_W0QQitemZ200072944877QQihZ010QQcategoryZ6472QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Quote
Brad Lustig Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Had one show up at the cruise-in once. Awesome little car. Link to more pictures Quote
PatS.... Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Well, it says "Full Service" but they didn't say WHEN they would serve. The Caddy was new when it stopped in for gas!!!!! Hard to beleive it looked like this once Quote
