BeBop138
This is what I went with---I had talked about this set up awhile back, very happy with how it works. It`s from a Chev inline six. Sits up a little higher, but is easier to work on and adjust. Just my preference...........Lee
grey beard
Do I assume correctly that this comes only in 12-volt configuration? Where'd ya get it? What'd it cost" Looks great. Do you have a vacuum advance hooked up to it? Thanks
greg g
Why not just modify a /6 dizzy and use the MOPAR electronic system, would take a conversion to 12V. http://www.allpar.com/mopar/nopoints.html

Will the slant 6 dist fit. the flathead?

Do you have a vacuum advance hooked up to it? Thanks Occasionally I find them at the u-pull-it, swap meets,ect.--pay around $25 bucks. A little machine work, rebuild the whole dist, recurve and springs--had some help with the machine work and Sun machine to set it---I suppose a $100 bucks--would be more if you had somebody do it for you. 12 volt-adjustable advance. The shaft has to be turned down, same for housing, use old style clamp for hold down---I like it.....Lee

Olddaddy
I've converted three slant/6 distributors to fit in the Mopar flatheads. Tim Adams has one now working out the details of 12V neg, 6Vpos etc. I expect he will chime in here as he is the master of all things unknowable to mere mortals..........I also have a GM HEI from an early 90s V6 installed on a 251, works really well. Don Coatney
Early on I toyed with the idea of using a furd V-6 distributor. Biggest problem was there was not enough real estate to allow for inner fender clearance.
billwillard
You do not have to go to 12vts. Prontronix part # 1362p6 for 6vts and 1362 for 12vts. 800 556 1365 is a good place to buy. I have used Prontronix for I don't kmow how many years and never had one go bad. bill
billwillard
With the prontronix all you do is remove the points and install inside dis. No added box. Bill
BeBop138
Don,your correct on the fender clearance---it will not fit on all cars, good we have more choices......Lee
woodscavenger
Are you saying I can find a chevy 6cyl HEI system, pull my current one, compare, measure, send to a machinist to make them match, and then toss it into my rig? I like the idea as I am already 12v and do not have any advance on my system.

I like the idea as I am already 12v and do not have any advance on my system. That`s about it----turn the housing down to fit the block. Shaft length is adjusted by the clamp. You have to turn the shaft from the tang end going into the pump the same as your old one. The tang I hand filed till it fit into the oil pump, that way there is hardly any slop in the shaft. Do the rest I mentioned and your done.....Lee
