unless you are doing an extreme amount of hills with the trialer laden..I would think the car would have little problem with a trailer upward to 1200 lbs...the main problem in towing is the increase demand on your braking system..I seriously doubt that the smaller retro teardrops have any provision for electric brakes..

My old teardrop is probably a bit heavier, it's based on a welded iron frame with aluminum skin. Like Tim says, pulling it is not a problem, I pull mine in overdrive with a 4.10 rear end. Stopping can be a little dicey though, especially on a short downhill freeway off ramp with a stoplight at the end. That's with a full load of gear in the car and a small boat and outboard motor loaded as well. Overall they stop ok if you allow for the additional weight but a disc brake upgrade or some electric trailer brakes would be money well spent.

my little guy trailer weighs 8-900 lbs pulls easily..in the country it brakes ok. havent tried city braking yet!!!!

my traler has a longer tongue than most i see. aligns nicely, backs up nicely.
