Can a few of you knowledgeable fellers tell me where is a good place to find ignition parts for our MoPar distributors? I am using a distributor in my pickup that is not original to it. While it works well, I need to find a source for new replacement parts. Most local parts houses near to me aren't very helpful, even when I supply the distributor number.

I just need a tune up kit, cap and rotor - nothing terribly esoteric, but this stuff seems hard to find. Any suggestions out there?

Thanks for your time.

Once you get the tune up kit for your distributor, make a note of the numbers on each part. Then next time you can go to your local store and buy them without all this hassle. I am a big fan of supporting the best local auto supply store you have, the one that has the older people behind the counter that is half hidden by racks of paper catalogs. We have to keep these places in business.

Todd,

I always keep every box lid stapled to a reference page in my ring binder with the part i.d. on it so I have a record of every part number used. Good suggestion. I agree completely. I now have the part numbers for the items I need - courtesy of Bill Willard - so now all I have to do is go shopping with me stimulus check from the Whaaaat Hauesssse, what?

We have a couple of auto parts stores here that are no name. They have been around since I was a kid. These places know what a carb, points and engine rebuild kits are. They can go to the shelf and get points and condenser. The thing is you have them in your town. They are off beat. Carquest bought alot of them. They have a network of warehouses that have so many parts they need books to look up your needs. "Old branch machine shop" Is a store that comes to mind. The guy these has a book that list the part then a book that shows the pic. They have points for your tractor. I got points for the 40 Plymouth and the 41 Studebaker from them. I had the old pats so I could look at the pic for identification. If I were you I would look for a parts house that uses " Blue Streak" ignition parts you can't go wrong with them.
