48Dodger Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 I need a pair of 15 x 5.5 rims, and a pair of 15 x 7's for my 130mph bid on the salt (bonneville). If anyone has either pair that will fit my 50' truck, that would be great. 48D Quote
Merle Coggins Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 I thought I saw that Dutch has some 15" x 5.5" rims for sale in the "For Sale" area. Can't help you on the 7"ers. Merle Quote
greg g Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 I believe MOPAR Police Duty rims ar 15 by 8. late model steel pickup and light duty van rims are 6.5 or 7. Both should be available in wrecking yards and ot pick and pulls. I am running 5 inch wide aftermarket smoothies from Wheel vintiques on my car, they did not list widths by the half inch but if you want ot go new the series 20 is available in 5, 6, 7, and 8 in widths. Plan on paying about 45 each. They are dtilled for both Ford.MOPAR and Gm bolt circles. Quote
48Dodger Posted June 12, 2009 Author Report Posted June 12, 2009 Thanks Guys, I contacted Dutch for the 5.5's.......hopfully the 7's show up as fast. 48D Quote
Vintrader Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 I would be happy to send you a pair of the rims I have but I think the shipping would kill you. Also Ford full size car rims from the 60's and 70's are the same bolt pattern. Dutch Quote
old woolie Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 I believe the hub hole on the Ford wheels are smaller, Mopar fits Ford, Ford won't fit Mopar. Could be wrong, might be the other way,it's been a long time. Quote
48Dodger Posted June 12, 2009 Author Report Posted June 12, 2009 (edited) Hey Dutch, I may have to live with the shipping. I can't seem to find any rims local and the Ford rims I've had in the past do have smaller center holes. What about greyhound? I live near "Stockton Wheel" but they want a bit of change for their's. 48D Edited June 13, 2009 by 48dodger Quote
Vintrader Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 Tim, I called Friday and left a message? With my phone number. Dutch Quote
48Dodger Posted June 14, 2009 Author Report Posted June 14, 2009 Hey Dutch, Got your message last night, midnight your time. My daugther is showing cows this weekend. Been keeping me busy during the day. I'll try and call you back today. 48D Quote
48Dodger Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) Like anything, you start thinkin' you know exactly what you need and someone throws a little reality at you. Dutch (Vintrader) is a great guy to talk to. He offered to donate the rims to the Bonneville run, minus any shipping costs. Very cool. But as he and I talked about back spacing on the old style rims, bolt patterns, etc.....its starting to look like I'll have to spend time at a custom wheel shop to get what I need for the trip. Part of the problem is tire speed rating and size availabilty in that size. I need a "V" rated Tire, 149 mph. So I may have to go to a 16" rim to get a narrow tire at that speed rating.......still got some homework to do. 48D http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=35 Edited June 24, 2009 by 48dodger Quote
