villageidiot Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 I gotta admit you have me wanting to ask the same question about one I saw today. Lets be real. How often do you see one of these great trucks on the road?? I came home for lunch today, running late to get back and I catch a 1 ton dually probably late 40s to 1950 coming at me with a load of roofing products in the back. Beautiful red truck. I am looking at the grill as he is heading towards me thinking, "no way, that looks like a pilot house!" It gets close enough, look at the grill and then nameplates and I am dumbfounded. Then I was thinking, do I turn around and "stalk" the guy until he stops and get his info?? If I had more time, I would have. Now I have to look out a little more closely as I drive home the rest of the week hoping I see him again. Great condition and the guy seems to be using it for a roofing business here in Dubuque. Made my day! Quote
Dave72dt Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 There used to be a red 3/4 -1 ton in Prairie du Chien several years ago but I don't think it was a dually. It looked a lot better at 50 yds than 50 ft. Could easily have been redone and fitted with duals. That's only 50 miles difference in location. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 There is a member of the DEPTCA listed in Prairie du Chien. I don't recall his name at this point, and I've never seen him post here. Merle Quote
