makkelsay Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 any suggestions on how to move a car with no front suspension at all and move it without any damage to the engine or trans and be able to put it in a garage or in a driveway on stands? i know its an odd question but theres a good chance my front suspension will not be finished in time for me to move my car from my friends garage to mine in other words i have 10 days to figure this out since the shop with my suspension is giving me the run around and bad promises Quote
greg g Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 Usta be that's how tow trucks towed cars, front end up in the air.A good driver can even back em up that way. Quote
makkelsay Posted April 21, 2009 Author Report Posted April 21, 2009 good tow drivers is the key....there arent that many round here it seems Quote

It would work forwards with the dolly's too,but backwards would probably be safer and easier. Have him unload it where you need it,and put stands under it when he jacks it up to get his dolly's free. dezeldoc Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 As knuckle said, but a good operator won't need a dolly, they can pull it up then tilt the bed and lift the front up and block it and tilt it back down and finish winching it up. you should have seen some of the things we have moved. Quote

Norm's Coupe Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 Bottom Line. You are just going to have to pick someone local to move the car. If you don't put your faith in some tow truck driver, you'll never get it moved. Remember, these people do it for a living. And, if they damage too many cars while moving them, they wouldn't be in business, simply because their insurance company would drop them if they did. Quote
