1just4don Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 I just saw one good looking one over on the bay. I,in all my years,,,have "NEVER" ever seen one before, least wise in these parts. How many of these things were made,,,and who, what kind of buyer did they appeal to?? More of a 'city' car?? This wasnt an aftermarket conversion kit or something,,,was it?? how weird they looked!! Plymouthy Adams Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 The Concord line was the small wheelbase Plymouth..the Suburban Wagon also shared this chassis..kinda odd to think the wagon being the smaller car.. I think they have the prduction number on the 1949/50 Plymouth website..I have seen a number of them..probably be the car of choice for a high rolling insurance saleman, banker, lawyer..(know one who has one)..flashy and sleek... greg g Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Dad had one like this, the Dodge version. Was in the Wayfarer trim level, longer wheelbase than the Plymouth and had the bustle back along with the fastback roofline. He was a punch press setup guy for a couple local industries. I remember a few ot these and the Plymouth being around, not real high numbers but enough to be noticed. http://www.chooseyouritem.com/classics/photos/27500/27768.jpg Quote
Guest Nile Limbaugh Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Encyclopedia of American Cars says: '49 made 13.7k bizzy coupes, 28.5k sedans and 19.2 wagons. '50 made 16.8k coupes, 67.5k sedans and 34.4k wagons. '51 and '52 production is lumped together: 14.2k coupes, 49.1k sedans and 76.5k wagons. That's quite a few short Plymouths after all. I was surprised at the amount. Quote
Guest mikeys toy Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 mine was a late '49; I think the sedans were all lumped together 2dr and 4dr you never see them the beige one was off google Quote
