austinsailor Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Sometime in the next week or so I'm going to go look at a big truck, probably a 2 ton. It belongs to a farmer/dealer nearby, and it is either still in dealer stock or first owner, not sure if it was ever registered. The brothers were a dodge dealer for many years, and had about 8 trucks they used on their farm and stored inside - always. They've gotten up in their years and are now selling them and their farm equipment. They already sold the "new" '47, which I would have loved to at least see. There is a 48 and I think a 58 there yet. If anyone wants pictures of certain parts to verify their restoration, I should be able to get them. I have no idea what the price is on them, but I can probably come back with that info as well, although I'm sure it's out of my budget. More to come. Gene G. Quote

48Dodger Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Love pictures. My 48 1.5 is still classified as "yard art" but will at some point recieve some attention. (note the ever present tow bar). I would like seeing another 48 1.5 ton just to what it has on board. 48D Quote

Frank Elder Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 What does the B2 designation stand for? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 The "B" represents the B-Series trucks which began production in 1948. The "2" represents the second generation of the B-Series trucks, produced in 1950. Following the B2 should be another letter or two which tell the weight class. Then there is usually another 3 digit number which tells the the wheel base length. Merle Quote
wallytoo Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 What does the B2 designation stand for? what merle said. the truck in your pic looks like a 1-ton, based on the 6-lug wheels perhaps a B2D? Quote
Bob_Koch Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 There's a breakdown of what the B** codes (VIN is you want to call it that) mean on the DPETCA site. Here's a link: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/vin/model.htm Quote
