Normspeed Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 This Christmas I added two new tools to the box. One is a Stanley 3/8" ratchet that works like a regular ratchet by swinging the handle but also works by twisting the handle. Pretty neat. Funny thing, I gave one to my son for Christmas (a Proto Blackhawk) and when we opened gifts, he had given me the same tool by Stanley! Great minds think alike. The other new item is a 3/8" air ratchet. Actually I bought the kid a whole set of air tools and he already had an air ratchet so he gave me his old one. Should come in handy when I pull those lowering blocks out for the machine work. You can never have too many tools. Quote
Brad Lustig Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 What, no hammers? I have a set of screwdrivers that work when you twist the handle. Seriously, though, I've always eyed those sidewinder ratchets and keep telling myself I'll get one. Seems like it would come in pretty handy. Quote
RobertKB Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 There are three words that should never appear together in the English language in a negative sense - too many tools. It's OK to use them in a positive way such as - you can never have too many tools. I love buying tools and enjoy being able to go to my garage and find the tool I need whether it is for the car, house, or anything else. Also found out you get what you pay for. No such thing as a good cheap tool unless found at a garage sale, swapmeet, or bargain basement store. Quote
bob_amos Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 How true... My wife won't let me have the Sears card because she worries about me and their tool department. LOL.. Fortunately, we have 3 tool trucks that visit our shop each and every week, and they give credit sooooo.. yup, I get mine from them. As well as Harbour Freight. Quote
Normspeed Posted January 9, 2007 Author Report Posted January 9, 2007 Like I always say, bargain tools can't meet the demands of a professional... Quote
RobertKB Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 Norm, I've seen that picture before but cannot remember what happened. Could you enlighten us again please. Quote
rearview Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 Kinda looks like a roadkill wrench. Is that one left handed? Quote
Brad Lustig Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 That wrench is perfect for reaching around corners in tight places. Quote
bob westphal Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 I have several combination wrenches that purposely made to look like that crecent to get into tight places. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 That cresent wrench looks like the one I was bending with my "mind" prior to it falling off the flatbed on the mobile stage..they demanded a mobile stage to rule out other forces that may or may not alter the wrench. Yes I am bored out of my wits here.... Quote
Normspeed Posted January 9, 2007 Author Report Posted January 9, 2007 Tim, sounds like a mind bending experience. I snitched that pic off this site, it think, a long time ago. Not sure what the circumstances were on the original pic. My comment is, if that's the front bumper, no problem. If that's the rear bumper, time to let the wife drive. Quote
1just4don Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 Funny what going thru a disc mower conditioner does to good wrenches when somebodies mind was preoccupied with other thoughts and mistakenly got left where it shouldnt have. Used as a dont turn bolt holder inside the machine. IT has alot more power than I do!! But I still use it occasionally!! Its called wrong place,,,RIGHT time!!! Quote
