Olddaddy Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 Too bad it's a Fordson and not a Mopar, but still extremely cool in a primitive mechanical way.... http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=568_1233111054 Quote

Olddaddy Posted January 29, 2009 Author Report Posted January 29, 2009 I would run along the beaches wreaking havoc upon pale skinned tourists............... Quote
greg g Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 Looks Screwy to me... When we were kids we made ice macines by taking the ols style power reel type lawn mowers. We would remove the wheels and the lower cutting blade. Then made a frame with wood or pipe with old skate runers for steering. The revolving blade would ride on the ice, and push the things along. They steered a bit but turns needed to be large radius. They would go about 20 to 25 mph. Just glade no one ever fell off one. Getting run over by the spinning blade would not have been pretty. Just another one of the crazy crap we got away with as kids. Quote
Normspeed Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 That is really neat. I never saw a setup like that one. Clever. Quote
PatS.... Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 Seems the Russians thought they could use the concept as well, much later. I wonder why this never caught on. Seems like a perfect machine for snow or sand. http://www.freiburgersjunkyard.com/blog/Motorized-Freak-of-the-Week-Russian-ZiL-Screw-Propelled-Truck-Thing.html Quote

Thank you! I just sent that link back to all my buddies in Massachusetts, CT, NH and RI along with a little sunshine from Daytona Beach. Perfect timing with the weather they are having in New England. Quote
