I have no idea, Let me amend, 300 project cars, 1000 cars in lot from 30's to 60's. The pictures are too big for me to upload. I think he is just trying to boost sales no mention of closing.

A year or more ago, I mentioned a massive auto graveyard that for years ran along I-81 around Scranton/Wilkes-Barre PA. It is now cleaned up and gone.

There was a brief flurry of nostalgic comments and a few folks from the area chimed in.

There must have been some old Mopars in there.

Question/matter of curiosity....would that have simply all been crushed or would any dealers of used parts of our vintage have gone in and snapped up anything of value?

i.e. is it gone forever or might some of it be out there somewhere?

Maybe some of both......maybe not.

Just depends on whether there were any other old car salvage guys

around to buy certain oldies. It gets down to what the seller is willing

to take and what the buyer (if any) is willing to give. Then, buyer has

to move what he buys.

An area yard with lots of 40s....50s....60s cars

went out a couple years ago. He tried to sell the place in its entirity....

no one wanted to pay the price. At the last, he would sell a complete

(usually fairly picked-over)

car for about $100, and the entire contents of various busses and box

truck beds for $100 each. You had to move the car right then, and

empty and haul off the bus load, or as much as you could get on your

vehicle. The rest were crushed.

Short of finding any kind of buyers, I imagine the whole batch got

crushed and is gone forever. Owners often get to a point they are

tired of messing with stuff, EPA rules, county zoning, people

stealing from them, etc so they just take their money and go out

of business.
