rolliejoe Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 What's the story about the motor with the J heads? The 318 looks like it belongs and it's tempting to put one in my '51, except the car is so dang original that part of me doesn't want "mess" the car up. Then again I have 2 318's, a 340, couple of 904's and 727's, etc. Way to trade up to the Scamp btw! Quote
dezeldoc Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 The motor was a bastard mix of parts that would not work together, someone elses problem they tried to pawn off on him. Quote
Young Ed Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 Man that looks good! you are really makkelsay progress, I mean making progress! What is your dream for color...seafoam? Really, what is it I'm needy:D Frankie you'll be happy to know if I ever get my 51 going thats its color. The firewall is still that green. Quote
makkelsay Posted May 4, 2009 Author Report Posted May 4, 2009 well i got to looking and thinking about my engine today as far as the "plydo kit" instructions i did everything exactly but when it comes down to the final mounting the starter is in the way of the steering column and the exhaust is literally resting on it too so it looks like im really going to redo the whole mounting system since my welding has become better and ive run into said problems looks like the engines gonna have to sit lower and im going to make my own exhaust my idea is to recess the firewall about an inch to make everything work out better Quote
