JerseyHarold Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 Looks interesting. Yonkers is just north of the Bronx for you out-of-towners. If anyone looks at/acts on this car, please post the details! http://newyork.craigslist.org/wch/car/256521512.html Quote
Normspeed Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 That looks to be in darned nice shape. Quote
1just4don Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 That talk show Clark Howard was on and this lady called up and was reciting a story that her son, who isnt the brightest bulb,(but TOTALLY innocent) sold something on Craigs list. Took the check (cashiers, I think,I forget)to the bank. Was quickly in handcuffs from the police and is now standing real serious charges of "possessing" a counterfeit bogus money instrument. And sounds like its going to stick. What a bummer a innocent seller of something gets arrested for doing what he thought was the right, ordinary thing to do. Seems their are laws that holds the banks harmless and the bearer is all to blame, no exceptions. They dont even go back to the real criminal who issued it,,,they arrest the first person they get their hands on!! There was MORE stories Just like this one,,,beware!! Quote
RobertKB Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Can anyone explain to this member north of the 49th parallel what Craig's List is? Never heard of it. Never heard of a lot of things which means at least I'm not a know-it-all. LOL Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Here you go Robert. Looks like they are in canada. http://www.craigslist.org/about/cities.html Dennis Quote
Young Ed Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Warning to you guys craigslist is dangerous! You all remember my 55 dodge-well thats where I bought it from....... Quote
1just4don Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 I really DONT think Craigs list is the problem,,,its the buyers and sellers 'everywhere' on the net that know every scam, loophole, and knothole to actully squeeze money and goods out of. Being single I used to look at the 'Russian single ladies wanting American men" till a friend told me thats all a BIG scam,,,get as many bucks out of you as possible,(ZERO of mine),,then never hear from them again!! I was most concerned where I heard that even e-bay and other sites all over have fabulous cars for sale. You bid, you win,,,you go find out there never WAS a car in the first place. They swipe the picture from somewhere else and pretend its theirs. IS there ANY good way to prevent said thing from happening???? BUT the innocent guy who takes what he thinks is a good check to the bank and ends up in handcuffs, having to hire an expensive lawyer, and face down legitimate charges,,,is WAAAAAAY past sad!!!! ITS buyers and sellers BEWARE as far as I am concerned.-d- Quote
bob westphal Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 One nice thing about eBay is you can check the seller or buyers history. Quote
