Did you notice the make of the coupe next to the pictured truck?? Looks like a special bodied car with the very thin b pillars (almost a hard top look) Some one posted a 41 Desoto a few years back witha similar body. Looking into it showed it was one of very few coach built bodies built on the Desotp Chasis. Looked a lot like that style.

A friend of mine in Idaho (he looked my truck over for me, before I bought it) lives 15 minutes away from this place. Apparently, they don't have the rust problems we have here in the North East.

Since my truck will need some odds and ends, he's going shopping there for me when the snow disappears. He tells me the place has several pilothouses.

Why can't we be that lucky, having a great place like that nearby?

Edit: Here are the pilothouses

That looks like a '41 Merc

I found this picture of a '40 with the same top and narrow pillar

According to MapQuest, that RI junk yard is only 45 minutes from where I live in southeastern MA. Sure wish I knew it was there four years ago when I started restoring my truck. As soon as all the snow we got this weekend melts, I'll take a ride over there to check things out. Zeke

I was told this was my Grandfather's Studebaker...looks very similar to it.

Rodney, to my knowledge, he never owned anything but a Studebaker. Pop was profoundly deaf, and shifted by ear!! Those old Studebakers hit 5 grand at every shift and lasted him for years...tough old cars they were.
