One would think he would have measured before putting the engine in. Then he could have put the firewall in and painted it before installing the engine.

Looks like he was trying to make a sedan delivery street rod out of it. Not crazy about it sitting so low or the chopped top though. Otherwise it would make a neat sedan delivery. Not worth what he's asking though for the condition of it.

too much rat and not enough rod...unfinished as it is..I am sure you will see this baby sell for less if indeed it sells..got to remember..this is not a good time to sell cars..Christmas and the kiddies, winter heating bills, travel for the holidays...prices for hookers going up as they now have to buy a coat...the list goes on and on...

What a POS. Another example of someone who does not know what they are doing ruining a perfectly good car. As I have said before and will likey say again, "I would honestly prefer to see it crushed than in this state!" Someone will probably eventually buy it for the engine and rat rod parts and the rest will be scrapped. I keep saying and I believe it to be true that in the not too distant future it is the original cars that will be worth money because there will be so few left.

Robert,

I'll agree that the original car prices will probably keep going up over time. But.....a really nicely done street rod will probably always be worth more. If for no other reason than the engine and drivetrain. It's nothing to see nicely done street rods with engines worth between $10,000 to $20,000 alone. Then you have to add the body work to that. However, I think the one in question here is far from being nicely done. Just look at the engine and firewall. Looks like he just found a running engine and dropped it in without touching it otherwise, just to make it go. He should have at least detailed the engine out and fixed the firewall prior to putting the engine in the car. No telling what his one off disc brake system is like.

There is likely someone out there willing and capable of cleaning up this mess, but nobody's gonna pay even 1/4 of this price for the "privilege"

These guys get in over their head, give up on the butcher job they created BUT still think it's worth the sum total of what they have in it.

It ain't.

one thing I can assure you with this car and firewall..even with a V6 engine installed the radiator opening needs widened, later after-market aluminum radiator and then the AC condensor that sets in front of the rad needs the hood latch lower support notched in order for it to clear...But..to not do the firewall..cheesy at best...and to read and believe that the listed radiator in the catalog will work with this set up as advertised...NO WAY...the inlet and outlet for the water pump just will not allow install..been there...conquered it all...

RobertKB is of the same mindset as I am to a point. I like cars that have the close to original look but don't mind the powertrain upgrades for safety and better dirveability. Reminds me of a sad story. A guy I know had a 1948 Monarch (Canadian Mercury) club coupe with 283 Chevy and powerglide, with an excellent stock body. He decided that wasn't enough and put in a Nova clip and then started to chop it. To make a long story short the Monarch is now in the dump. Brendan::(:confused:

The same sad story applies to hundreds of nice cars. Sometimes I think there MAY be alcohol involved :D:mad::(

But then you get the story of that guy who is resurrecting that 61 Chevy convertible found in a ditch...that is a pure work of art, for sure.
