I usually get covers at a local pep boys auto store. They cost around 80-100 for the one I get even less if on sale. As they are sold for newer vehicles you basically read the box and see what fits most likely a suv type cover

I just bought a cover for my 53 wagon from CA Car Cover. They are really high quality, and they have patterns for a lot of old cars. They had a pattern for mine and they made up the cover and had it to me in less than two weeks. I'm completely satisfied. The fit is perfect. They ain't cheap but if you want a good one with a good fit that is the place to call.

There are lots of car covers for sale on ebay also.

I recently bought a sort of cheap one that only came down about

three fourths of the way on the sides. It was on the light weight

side and only cost about $24. If you want a truly good quality,

probably the CA covers are best, probably flannel lined and water proof.

Some do not repel water or dust.

There is an article in the current Skinned Knuckles magazine about storing your car over the winter. The author suggests that you make sure your car cover is eight inches from the floor so that rodents can not use the cover to get up into the car.

Depends on what your want your cover to do, if its just a dust cover for winter inside storage, any of the cheapie covers from the discount stores or bubble pack parts stores will work. I got one from Wally World 6 years ago I believe it was a Budge brand, its a single ply deal got one for a medium sized car, I use it to cover the car in the garage for winter storage. It is just a little bit to small, If covers the sides, but I have to choose to leave either the front or rear bumper uncovered. Some one mentioned that if you get one that will fit a Ford Exploder, it will be sufficient size for our vehicles regardless of numer of seats or doors.

I won one for a large car as a door prize at a car show, Its still in the box.

For outside storage, one with a soft interior ply, good fit (so it won;t buffet around int he wind) is a good idea. Some have said that long term storage outside with a cover is not a good idea, as condensation can build up underneath and cause more damage than it prevents.

If you are going for long term outdoor storage, talk to the folks at Cal Covers and discuss your needs. Even though their covers are on the expensive end of the list, the cost will still be less than a repaint.

Greg..I have been using a Budge brand for years..this cover does not see direct sunlight but is covering a car that sits in an open front barn...is still very nice shape and going strong..think it is on its 6th year...I also think being a very large cover it was something around 45.00....all cloth..
