Bingster Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Does anybody know if wheel cylinders, rubber parts, etc. are the same from Andy B. to Kanter to Pro Antiques to Roberts, etc. etc.?? I can't believe they all make their own versions. The reason I ask is that if we don't want ANdy B.'s wheel cylinders, are we getting the same thing from Kanter or Roberts? I'm sure they are all Chinese. (Not Andy, the parts!) Quote
greg g Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 When I had my brakes done about 6 years ago, they sorced the Hydraulic parts from wagner. I have all the parts boxes in the garage if you want I can get your the numbers tomorrow. Quote
oldmopar Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Wheel cylinders are made by different manufacturers and are then sold by vendors. However many of the vendors do not say who makes there products. Auto parts stores like Napa or rockauto (on line) do allow you to choose a manufacturer but in today's world in everyone has factories in china. I still prefer to buy names like Raybestos or Wagner but even at their higher prices there is no guarantee that it will be USA made. About the only option would be if a local auto parts has the cylinders in stock you could look at the box and see where it was made. But not many stock wheel cylinders for our vehicles. Quote
RobertKB Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Want stock wheel cylinders? Have the old ones sleeved. There are lots of companies out there that will do it and you never need worry about corrosion again. That way you are supporting workers in your country and not buying offshore products. Quote
