Brad Lustig Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 First off, to start the trip off, I had something happen on the flight that made me feel so good. After a layover in Dallas I got on my next plane and after pretty much everyone was seated, there was some commotion that started in first class and one of the flight attendants started walking towards the back saying "there isn't an empty seat up there" to the other attendant. The other attendant said, "He wants to give up HIS seat" as she walked to the back of the plane. Turns out a guy in first class gave his seat up to a guy in the Army sitting in the way back. Now THAT is first class. My wife and I stood up and applauded (the only ones on the plane), for both men. I get a little misty eyed just thinking about it. Anyway, CA, never been before, but I enjoyed it. Weather was unbelievable. Classics were EVERYWHERE! Saw several that I couldn't even begin to identify (make, era, or country of origin). One looked almost like a convertible windup toy with a Christmas tree in the passenger seat and hanging over the back seat. My wife couldn't believe I didn't know what that car was. Also, while I was out there, I met a couple of really nice celebrities. I know, that's kind of an oxymoron, but I have nothing but nice things to say about these two guys. Well, they were both a little loud. Wish I'd snapped a couple of good pictures of these guys. My wife took all the pictures and didn't really get any good ones of them as cars. They were very well done. Lightning McQueen was really loud and you could feel the exhaust sound in your chest like there was a real big block under the hood. They were both electric with sound systems. If you get out to Disneyland anytime soon, keep an eye out for them. They were in the other section of Disneyland (can't remember what it's called). I'm thinking about adding this one to the family album. My wife shot me a dirty look when she snapped this picture. Quote
Brad Lustig Posted December 28, 2006 Author Report Posted December 28, 2006 Also, ran across a business opportunity out there. My brother-in-law said that this business can be bought for $200K http://www.allthekingstoys.com/ Low price due to illness. I believe most of the cars are for sale on consignment. But several are owned by the business owner through repo. Anyway, probably a good deal considering the location and all the work this guy has done setting the business up. Quote

Brad Lustig Posted January 9, 2007 Author Report Posted January 9, 2007 Just found out what that little car was I saw in CA with the Christmas tree in it. A Fiat 500 Jolly After seeing John Mulders post in the "First Time" thread, I noticed a similarity in the front ends. A little more research and Voila, there it is! http://www.microcarmuseum.com/tour/fiat500jolly.html Sweet, only 100 surviving! 22hp! But it's only about 1000lbs Quote
John Mulders Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 haha, yes, based on the Fiat 500 Thanks for posting John Quote
