Fernando Mendes Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Where is the place(in the floor) to fit the carburetor(not dual) pedal rod linkage spring(part number 14-06-01)? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 On mine there is a cotter pin through a small hole in the front removable floor piece. Cotter pin comed up from the bottom and it spread open to be flush with the floor on the inside. Then the spring is hooked to the eye end of the cotter pin. Merle Quote

Merle Coggins Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 I like that location better. Mine hooks up down under the firewall and is a pain in the @$$ to connect. I'll have to look at that area again and see if I can relocate it. Although I see that you have your spring going from the carb link to the fender. That's different. Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted October 7, 2008 Author Report Posted October 7, 2008 Ok,thanks to Reg & Merle for the great help.Today mine has the same as Reg fited in the right fender. Now I will fit it in the firewall with a clip.See a WC-56 pic. Quote
TodFitch Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 Where is the place(in the floor) to fit the carburetor(not dual) pedal rod linkage spring(part number 14-06-01)? Sounds like you question was answered but I have another one: You list the "part number" as 14-06-01. I was under the impression that all Chrysler Corp part numbers from the 1980s and earlier were simply incremental numbers with the ones assigned in the 1933 starting around 602000 and those in the 1940s and 50s in the million plus range. My 1936-49 parts book does show numbers like you list but I thought they were called something like a "part type code". For example part type code of 22-06-2 would be for "Front Wheel Bearing Cup" and the part number for the outer one on a 1928 Model Q would be 40424 while the part number for 1936 P1 through a 1948 P15 would be 698388. Am I mistaken between the difference part type codes and part numbers? Quote
Jim Shepard Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 Here's a photo I took last year when someone asked the same question. Hope this helps. So, Reg, where's the return spring? I think what you're pointing to is a push pin for the firewall pad. My cotter pin is located under the floorboard and, like you said, the return spring attaches to it. Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted October 8, 2008 Author Report Posted October 8, 2008 I hooked the pedal return spring under the floor with a clip.See in the pics.Regards. Quote
Zeke1953 Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 When I first bought my truck, the PO had two springs attached to the carb linkage. One went to the cotter pin on the floor board as shown and the other one went from a diffrent part of the linkage to the fender. After rebuilding when I put everythng back together, I didn't use the fender spring. Everything works fine and I've never been able to figure out why it was there. Does anyone know? Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 I hooked the pedal return spring under the floor with a clip.See in the pics.Regards. Glad you got it in the right spot despite my photo Fernando. What was I thinking? Oh....I know..... I wasn't. Quote
