Hey

Everyone talks about using a Mustang II type steering system. Are they talking about a rack from a Mustang? Could I use a rack unit from a 80's something Mustang? Would I have to use the PS pump from this car (it is a 4 cly)?

The mustang II setup they are refering to replaces the orig stock suspension.

When you say "rack" are you talking about the rack and pinion unit? A Mustang II front end kit replaces the entire front suspension. It has the rack unit, A arms, shocks, brake rotors, calipers, pads, tie rod ends, coil springs, etc etc. It's not just the rack unit. Take a look online at some of the Mustang II setups on Heidts, Fatmans, and so on and you'll get a better idea what they're talking about. I think there are some rack units that aren't power steering but I could be wrong. Anyone who knows for sure, please feel free to chime in. The kit I bought from Fatman's is P.S. Dave

they make both power and manual racks, your choice.
