My husband and I are new to the Forum. We live in Tulare County California.. Six months or so ago we found and bought a 56 Dodge C3 Job Rated truck. This truck was parked in a garage since 1976-77. At that time it was the owners daily driver until he became ill and parked it. Sadly he ended up passing away. So yes its a real barn find. With a little help we learned that our truck is a 55 and a 56 only on paper.. It has a 259 V8 poly hemi with a 3 on the tree transmission.... This is our first time owning a Dodge. It is also our first time not only owning a Dodge but owning a vehicle older then us. Don't get me wrong it does need a lot of work before anything. We want to keep it original. Well as close to original as we can. It does need the engine to be rebuilt the transmission and etc gone through since it hasn't been started or anything in 40 plus years. It also needs all the wiring replaced as well as a paint job the entire fuel system (tank, fuel pump, fuel lines, etc...). We have limited income so it is going to take us some time to get it finished. My husband is doing all the work himself. He just started working on it since he is almost done with our 1976 Monte Carlo. We can honestly say that we love our Dodge and the more we learn about Mopar makes us want to find out all we can. My husband has worked on our vehicles before but a project this size will be his first. Thank you for taking the time to read. Any advice, help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. We thank all the members of the forum.
