The chair is a Hag Capisco, it's funny looking, but my back loves the one I have now. Its about a 28" cube and weighs around 20 lbs. Currently only Greyhound comes up with an affordable shipping quote. Still waiting on the owner to determine his selling price. I will keep you posted, thanks for the offer of help!

Typically the issue with 14" wheels is the caliper hits the inside of the rim. You might be able to run them with a spacer to move the wheel out a 1/4" or so. Some judicious trimming on the caliper body might work as well. I've never had anyone report back to me that they could or could not use 14" wheels with my kits. IF you could get me a very accurate dimension from centerline of your spindle to the inner diameter of your wheel I could check my mockup spindles and see how close it would be. Although very few people run 14" rims it would be nice to know the answer. www.rustyhope.com

If anybody has one it will be George Asche.

I need a favor from somebody in Reno. I'm trying to buy a chair from a guy who won't ship it to me. He will only sell by local pickup. I need someone who can pick up the chair and ship it to me. I can send the money upfront, no scam here or anything. I know it's crazy, but the chair helps me keep my back in good enough shape to keep me working on my old Plymouth.

Merry Christmas from the former Colonies! All the best to you in the New Year!

I send my clutch discs and pressure plates out to a local rebuilder in Tampa, FL. If you look around you will find most larger industrial areas have a rebuilder. USPS priority mail being so cheap, send them out. I use Bay Area Clutch in Tampa. Speaking of pulleys....are those stock original Yale pulleys? If so, what year/model is your lift? Those would make a nice setup for my 230. I only run a water pump and alternator, but someday an AC compressor will get mounted.

1940 plymouth wheels for disc brake clearance?
Olddaddy replied to 19fortybizcoupe's topic in P15-D24 Forum
I replied to your earlier email today, did you not get it? I use a Mopar rotor that was chosen so people could use their original wheels and hubcaps. Any Mopar wheel with a 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern can be used with my kits. The only caveat is that 14" wheels may not clear the caliper without using a spacer behind the wheel. Later model wheels will not work with your original hubcaps. If money is no object Stockton Wheel will install your original wheel centers into later style rims that will clear a rotor. That being said, if your original wheels are in good shape they should work fine and since they are 16" should clear the caliper. -
I am currently in Solvent.........and it's crowded!

I still like Canadians. When they all come down here for the winter they keep the cops busy so I get less attention from them! I never get a ticket between October and May......

I'd love to get a closer look at the bus in the upper right line of cars....

Royal Bank of Canada Money Order Fraud
Olddaddy replied to Olddaddy's topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum
Dan, no my bank, Wells Fargo did nothing for me. They didn't notify my when they took the money back out of my account until a week later when I got a letter in the mail. By then the overdrafts had done their damage. I know the banker personally, it's a small branch by my office. He didn't call or email although he has all my contact info, bank policy he says. Well,on Monday they will be my ex-bank, can't afford them any longer. Sad thing is no matter where I go it won't be any better. People don't matter, profit does..... -
I sold a disc brake kit last month for a 55 Dodge car to a Canadian Fellow named Tom Silex (probably an alias) whose address was reported to me as 11175 Pretty Rd, Winfield, BC Canada. He even gave me a phone number that later turned out to be the Arrowleaf Cellars Winery. He paid me $215 via a Royal Bank of Canada money order which I deposited in my local Florida account. Having always believed money orders to be as good as cash and generally liking Canadians I shipped his kit. When the money order was returned unpaid my bank deducted the funds from my account. By the time I received the letter and the rejected money order I was bouncing checks and bills left and right. I was charged hefty fees totaling another $130 over and above the original $215. I contacted RBC who politely and efficiently determined the money order was not one of theirs and wished me luck. They had no interest in the fact that a person was using their bank as part of a fraud transaction. So, lesson learned. As of today I will no longer accept any form or payment for any of my services other than Paypal, or Cash in US dollars. And if anyone offers to pay you with a Royal Bank of Canada money order I would recommend that you decline the offer. RCB Money Order.pdf

Merle, if that is from a 1/2 ton truck it might work. Can you measure the overall width, and the width where the springs mount?

I have a customer with a 33 Dodge pickup who wants to install front disc brakes. The original spindles have an offset that makes it impractical to try to adapt something that will work. We are looking at either installing later spindles onto the original axle, or replacing the original completely with a later one. Anybody got spindles or a complete axle laying around that they would part with?

Unfortunately the Mini-van brackets won't interchange with the Ram Van parts. They are similar, but will not work. Thanks for the reply though.

I have a full size 93 Dodge Ram Wagon. My van has the removable rear seats. These seats have steel tube legs that have a hook and latch on them that mounts the seat to the floor. It's an early version of the easily removed seat now found in almost all Mini-Vans. I need a pair of the tube legs with hook and latch attached. I don't need a seat, just the legs. My purpose is to mount a pair of Dodge van buckets when seating is needed and remove one or both when cargo space is needed. My bench seat is too nice to cut up, so hopefully I can find one, or someone with one who would consider removing and selling me the mounts.

Well, I call so often that when they ask me what I need I just say "the usual" and they take it from there........................40 years in the workplace and poorer than the day I started..........

I've been on the phone with Dan and we are working on what the problem might be. One by one we will look at the parts, installation, etc. I am inclined to agree there is a bearing problem somewhere. Dan is doing the hard part, pulling it apart and sending me pictures. I'll do the easy part and think about it long and hard till the answer pops up in front of us. Will post here when it does.

There is a 54-56 group at yahoo groups, but I don't think it's very active. My 54 was the best truck I've ever owned, great old Dodge!

Thanks all, the consensus of Idle Air Control proved correct. I did try the key trick, but this truck does not show a code it only flashes the check engine light. The part was totally gummed up with carbon and I replaced it rather than clean it and all is well. Many thanks as always! Tim, I did update your email, but for whatever reason your server rejects me......I will pm when the need arises in future, or simply call the way we used to do in a simpler time.
