  1. I don't think I'll have that much problem out of mine if I put the leaves back in.
  2. The engine that was in the truck before had the rear sump, but removing 2 leaves from the front now made in an issue.
  3. Thinking about putting the leaf springs back in to raise the truck back up some.
  4. I've only posted with problems I've currently had with my pickup, so I'll start with a build thread. I got my engine dropped in, rebuilding my distributor now ( picking up points set tomorrow), The transmission is bolted up and I have few things left for my Park/Hand brake. Will be attempting to start the engine once the points are in. The brakes will next, then wiring kit and last body work. The engine is a 230 from a '50 D34, Transmission is three speed floor shift from a '37, using the turn key starter from the D34 as well. I lowered the truck, removed two leaves from the front and three from the rear, now with the engine sitting in and the wheels cut to the right the drag link is hitting the bottom of the oil pan, being a rear sump pan. I will try to get some more pictures up when I can.
  5. Are there any new options for wheels without changing hubs and spindles to get awawy from the two-piece wheels for the big five lug pattern?
  6. Owner told me it was a 53, S# told me a 52. Did find a Prince Albert can half full of pipe tobacco in the glove box! Probably worth half as much as the truck.
  7. Although I don't own the truck yet, May get a set of points and plugs for It and try that.
  8. Just tried starting the truck and didn't have luck, the engine wasn't froze but it wouldn't fire. The plugs are over 40 years old, owner never changed them. Popped the distributor cap off and wood roaches fell out, and was a little rusted. Going back tomorrow to try and remove the plugs.
  9. I just noticed that, I guess I'm so used to my B3B. Thanks for the input guys. I'm going to try and take a battery and some gas up one day and see if she will fire.
  10. As the title says, I've found this truck and will purchase it down the road. Has the spit fire engine, 5spd trans, 2spd rear, ran four years ago. Very little rust and a stake bed. Can someone inform me on these trucks and engines? Will add pictures later.
  11. Front driver and rear passenger are left hand thread. You can look at one of my posts on shackles with the troubles I had to try to avoid it. Good luck.
  12. That's awesome, I have a Cummins ISX oil pan that I made a cabinet around and turned it into a sink.
  13. I bought a car steering box bearing and bushing set for my 52 B3B. The bearings are the same but the oil seal and brass bushings are different. I bought the kit off ebay for around $100.
  14. Is this where I send you my address to ship it to me? It looks good. I like it.
  15. The oil pan from my 52 is just the same, as well as the other engine going in. Cant remember which side the dipstick is on.
  16. I believe they're just a bolt Like you said.
  17. '37 3/4 ton I believe, not sure on the "tonage". Bought, then sold to dad. The gentleman I bought it from found it when he was bush-hogging the field and hit it with the tractor! There was a second truck of the same year that is here locally, daily driver, on a toyota 4x4 frame on 35's.
  18. You do have a point. I've aleays found them interesting.
  19. Just dropped my clutch, p-plate and fly wheel off at Lexington Joint and Clutch. Expecting to be less that $150.
  20. Just wondering if anyone here has kept any of the service stickers from vehicles you have acquired. I find them interesting to know when the last time that that any service has been done. Knowing the last oil change, lubrication, and any other service that has been done. I kept them from the Bel Air I formerly owned from 1973, and from my B3B, 1971. I'm going to make a collage for my truck of the build pictures and the service tags. Just curious if anyone else finds these interesting. MartinsB3B
  21. Wish my build would go that quick. Slick looking truck, though.
  22. Is that a cup holder on the dash? You may laugh if I'm wrong...
  23. That is true, this is the largest snow we have had since 1998, 11" just today.
  24. You have to be kidding me. They have declared a state of emergency in ky because of a snow storm that has brought around 9".
