  1. Thanks, Tommy I'm so ready to see some color on this thing even if it is primer gray. We were taping the body last night and talking about what life was like when this car was coming off the assembly line. WWII had only been over a short time, rock n roll hadn't been invented, if you were gay it meant you were happy and a pair of boobs referred to a couple of dumb guys. Times sure have changed.....
  2. Ready for the weekend; priming Saturday morning
  3. After 4+ years of working on this, we're finally ready to shoot some primer on it. I'm cleaning up half the garage to hang plastic and we're going to shoot it over the holiday weekend. I went and bought all the paint, primer, etc to do the whole car today. Going with a 95 Porsche color; Grand Prix White. Also got my Lokar shifter mounted so I can measure where to cut the whole in the floor.
  4. Just read your thread, Rob. That car must have been well taken care of; I didn't see any rust on your frame or firewall with the clip off. That's unheard of around here. Great looking project!
  5. I've been to that show a few times, Steve. It's about 25 minutes from me. Your car is the first blue one in the pictures? Looks great!
  6. Just got back yesterday from a weeks vacation at Lake of the Ozarks. Very relaxing, just a week of fishing and reading. No email, internet, TV, or work; I feel like a new man. I spent today on the car before I have to go back to work tomorrow. Just did a couple small things but it took most of the day. I built a drop and a floor mount for the steering column along with figuring out the mount for the master cylinder and finished modifying the brake pedal bracket.
  7. Tim, did you try a company called Hagan? I know they make some different custom headlight items.
  8. Guys, I need a favor. I installed new rockers on my car and need to relocate the holes for the molding clips. Could someone who has the molding off their car take some measurements for me? I need the following: 1) Number of holes per side 2) Height and width of holes 3) Top to bottom orientation of holes (measurement above top of hole to edge of rocker and bottom of hole to bottom edge of rocker) 4) Center to center measurement of holes 5) Maybe a close picture of the side of your car without the molding I know this is a lot to ask but I'd appreciate any help.
  9. Hmmmm....if I were going to do that I'd need a straight axle, a blown hemi, and some slicks on the back, too!
  10. Gotcha; mine is totally different. I'm running a Cavalier rack n pinion. My brother in law is building an LS1 powered S-10 and he thinks the headers he bought for it might work on mine, too. I'm going to try them when I get it back on the frame.
  11. I finished welding up the tunnel and floorboards today, plus did a trial fit on the Chevy truck brake pedal. After I did some trimming on the bracket it looks like it'll work out fine. Body work on the shell is done as soon as we smooth out the welds on the firewall; should be some primer in the near future. The plan is to primer the shell, paint the firewall and wheel wells, and then mount it permanently to the frame to start on the doors, deck lid, fenders, etc.
  12. Back off the frame and on the cart; I got the firewall welded up, now just need to make it pretty.
  13. Yeah, I can probably get two more inches off of it. Good idea, thanks! Any chance you could post a picture of yours?
  14. Thanks for posting this; very cool car.
  15. The angle for the shaft u-joints looks pretty good but it looks like some header work is going to be in order.
  16. Here's what I'm going to use for a steering column; it came from a 66 Chevy 2 ton truck. First order of business was to shorten it by 18" down to 32".
  17. Too weird, I got my coupe for free, too.
  18. I think Adam's fix looks pretty good; you may want to go that route.
  19. No difference, Ed. It was the exact same floorboard. Yeah, it looks like you've got your work cut out for you.
  20. Looks like they did a nice job on the chop; had it been on the road since then or was it an unfinished project?
