  1. Lots of the younger generation are using it to wrap complete cars.
  2. When I removed the test piece I looked at the back and there was a very tiny speck of something under that bubble above the "V and E". Have to make sure it's spotless or it will show.
  3. Thought that I'd start the rear bumper next. I've got a very nice driver front but haven't found a decent rear as of yet. So, I thought that I'd see what a chrome vinyl wrap looks like. First bunch of photos are as removed. Black stuff is thick tar. 2nd bunc are sanded to 80 grit. Then a test piece on the most difficult area. Painting the letters should be left to professionals I believe. Looks good enough to try and do the whole thing.
  4. Installed the 48 Chrysler electric 2 speed wipers into the 47 Dodge. Fit perfectly. I have always hated vacuum wipers. My very first vehicle was a 48 Chevy truck. Every time I pushed the accelerator they'd stop. Hah, no more.
  5. if they were stock 16" and you go 15" the speedometer will be wrong
  6. plymouths had a 2.5" narrower wheelbase. Most likely the seat would be that much narrower also.
  7. Thanks to Ralph's diagrams I managed to identify some more wires this morning. Didn't have much time to work on it. I also found the dash harness box. It wasn't retailed by or marked MOPAR. It was sold by Montgomery Wards/Riverside. My headlight harnesses were MOPAR marked.
  8. I know PA I was just kidding. Don't do anything that isn't needed. I'll wait and see what Rhode Island Wire says about a copy of their diagram. Thanks
  9. PA I'd let you borrow my ladder but I doubt that it's long enough. lol
  10. I hope lots of these unmarked wires are not needed. Less to deal with. I have one heater, clock, back up light and radio.
  11. I emailed them yesterday. Fingers are crossed.
  12. thanks donald. I have to figure which wire in my harness match each wire that you stated as mine are not tagged.
  13. It's been about a year but i believe the box said mopar. I might have a photo of it somewhere.
  14. The original harness is so filthy that I can't tell if a wire was green, purple, blue or black, red orange or yellow. Even under the little outer wrapping that is left. And the PO removed it by cutting each wire and hauling it out.
  15. I no longer have the original box that it came in. But the box and harness must be at lease 30 years old.
  16. The white sheets in the packets are large diagrams that are clear and concise. You can see the underdash harness in the background. no paperwork came with it.
  17. I bought everything but the underdash harness from Rhode Island Wiring. I have no problems with the RI wiring at all. It's very nice quaility, and the diagrams they furnished with it are great. It's the NOS underdash harness that I bought that didn't come with diagrams that I'm having connection problems with.
  18. I bought the dash harness NOS. Didn't come with a diagram in the original box. I do have a manual it isn't any better than the diagrams that I have. They all tell me what a wire connects to, just not which connector/stud on say the light switch or the igintion switch.
  19. Thanks BC the photos and especially the explanation really help. Great stuff.
  20. Was trying to show a decent diagram. Can't delete it now. Ralph thanks for those. I'll enlarge them tonight at work and see if they help. They sure can't hurt. I appreciate your help.
  21. I now have 3 different wiring diagrams for my D24. 1. $17 dollar full color huge, 2 and 3 off of the download part of this site. All are different to some degree and none show the back of all the switches. The two downloaded ones show the instrument light switch with 5 wires going into it, unmarked where each hook up. the ebay one shows 4 and my switch has 3. My NOS underdash harness has some wire colors that are different from my messed up original. 2nd problem that I see looming is the harness is about 3/4" where it goes through the firewall. None of my new grommets have holes larger than 3/8. This is going to go very slowy while I cool down between sessions of trying to decode the whole mess. I've got some ends identified and the rest labled so that I know where each end of a single wire is but still have to try and find out where about 70% hook up.
  22. Tks Windsor8. I would appreciate them.
